• Summarising the main ideas in a text - Who? What? Where? When? Why?
• Identifying figurative language and explaining how that contributes to the meaning of the text
• Making predictions based on details that have been both stated and implied. Justify these with evidence from the text - What do you think will happen? Why do you think this? What are the clues from the text?
• Continuing to be able to explain a character’s feelings, thoughts and motives using evidence from the text - Why do you think the character behaved like this? How do you think they were feeling? How do you know?
