Starting Nursery

Welcome to Grange Nursery!

We are so excited for you to start your learning journey here with us! Our experienced EYFS team are looking forward to meeting you and sharing lots of wonderful moments together, you can meet the team and find out a bit about them on this page.

We love to learn through play and enjoy exploring our school grounds through outdoor learning, whatever the weather. Through carefully planned activities, we foster our children’s love of learning and curiosity, helping them to become independent learners who are resilient and proud of their own achievements.

We cannot wait to meet you.

Before your child starts Nursery we would recommend preparing them for Nursery, here are some top tips below...

1. Talk to your child about Nursery

It is important to talk to your child about Nursery and what they could expect. Explain that they will be making new friends, playing with new toys and learning new things. You can also use this page to share some photos and information with your child.

2. Visit our Nursery

Every child is offered a visit to our wonderful Nursery, during this time they will be able to meet the staff and explore the environment.

3. Practice independence

At Nursery, children are often encouraged to have a go at doing things themselves. You can help your child to begin to practice some of these things at home, such as, putting on their coat, going to the toilet and washing their hands.

4. Read together

Reading to your child is one of the best ways to prepare them for learning at Nursery. It helps to build their attention span and develop their vocabulary and comprehension skills.
