The Ancient Greeks told lots of legends like Athena coming out of Zeus’ head when it was hit by a big hammer. The Ancient Greek gods lived on Mount Olympus.

When I was younger I went to Crete which is a Greek island and I really enjoyed it.

It hasn’t always been a holiday destination. It was the birthplace of the goddess Artemis and the god Apollo. It was the setting for the myth of Theseus and the Minotaur.

I have been to Crete which is the largest of the Greek Islands, but I went when I was still in my Mummy’s tummy. She told me the weather was always hot and the sea was a beautiful clear blue colour. She went with my Grandma and Grandpa and they went on days out to see the historical ruins and also went to the Capital and Port City of Heraklion.
I have found out that the language spoken in Greece is Greek. I have found that it is traditional at Greek weddings for everyone to dance and throw plates. There are also more than 2000 islands but only 170 of them are populated.
Also in Greek Mythology there is said to have been a mythical creature called a Minotaur which had the hard and tail of a bull and a body of a man.
I am really excited to learn about Greece and hopefully learn more about the Minotaur.

No, I have not been to Greece. I have loved learning about some of the myths, like Pandoras box, and the Trojan horse. In Greece they made clay pots and they had no cars, they had carriages with horses, because the carriages were so heavy. They had a lot of gods, the king of the gods was Zeus. They had guards to protect the Greek people. I’m learning lots of cool stuff. Thank you!

Did you know that there are about 140 inhabited islands in Greece! and when girls where married they had to do exactly as there father told them( I would not like to live in those times.)Greek people could buy cloth and clothes in Agora (a market place In Greece.)but that was expensive. Also religion was important to the ancient Greece people. The Greeks , to show the gods how important they were , built Temples in every town for one god or goddess. The temples were not ordinary or modern for children to play in.( I think that is enough facts for now!)
