High Level Teaching Assistant

 

Job Description

To lead the School’s Intervention programme, within a defined phase of the school, under the overall direction of the SENCo / Head / Deputy Head, who will be responsible for policy and the educational programme and for matters of control and discipline as defined within the School’s ethos and Policies.

To foster the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school by recognising individual pupils’ needs and identifying and implementing appropriate responses.

Work independently, in accordance within guidelines, to encourage pupils to become more independent learners and help to raise the standard of achievement and attainment for all pupils.

To develop, plan, deliver and review learning activities for pupils in accordance with best practice and national guidelines.

To take responsibility for the overview of planning and delivery of specified packages of work such as lesson planning, tailored interventions, assessment or reporting.

To carry out specified duties with individuals, groups or classes under the direction of a qualified teacher in accordance with The Education (Specified Work & Registration) (England) Regulations 2003.

Grade 7 Teaching Assistant

 

Job Description

Teaching Assistants are appointed to work with children as part of a team under the overall direction of the Head Teacher, who will be responsible for the overall policy and educational programme and for matters of control and discipline within the appropriate Articles of Government.

To foster the participation of pupils in the social and academic processes of the school by recognising individual pupils’ needs and identifying and implementing appropriate responses under the overall management and guidance of the class teacher.

To work independently in accordance within guidelines in order to encourage pupils to become more independent learners and help to raise the standard of achievement and attainment for all pupils.

Activities undertaken by colleagues at this level would be monitored by the class teacher or more senior colleagues and the content of learning activities would be planned by the teacher/more senior staff, although there would be an expectation that the post holder would contribute to this process.To work in any sector of the school as directed by the Head Teacher.
